When we think of prayer, not theologically or theoretically, but rather of our practical experience of prayer, it's easy to be humbled by the reality of what prayer is to us.  Because how we pray, reveals much about what we realy believe about prayer.  If we ask much but listen little in prayer, we are like children who have many 'wants'.  If we pray the prayers of others, we can fall into the trap of praying well, but not experiencing intmacy with the Lord.  Or maybe we just don't pray:  Our time - our life - is too valuable to spend seeking the Lord.

From Mountaintop to Snow-Covered Mountaintop

This morning, I was looking out the window at my car.  No, let me rephrase that:  I was looking out the window for my car.  I knew it was out there, because I could see everything of the car that was above the hood.  But everything lower than the hood was buried under snow.

2013 - We're Off!!!

New Year seems to me to be a time for looking backwards, and for looking forwards.  In looking back, we have an opportunity to learn from the past; to see the mistakes, and to ask 'how do I avoid that error in the future?' and to see the victories and to ask 'how do we go about repeating that?'
