A few days ago, I shared with my wife Diane about a conversation that I was privileged to be part of last fall over lunch at a little café in downtown New Glasgow.  What was so memorable about that conversation was not so much its content - quite frankly, I can’t remember what was discussed around the table - as the consideration of one another present in the sharing.

There is something beautiful in the transaction of giving your children guidance, watching them follow it, and having them see things work out well for themselves, out of your instruction.  Magnificent!  Our experience, the things we’ve learned along life’s journey, passed on to our children, and then our grandchildren, and on and on.  All for their good.

Truth Made Real (pt 2)

Yesterday, I referenced an exerpt from Paul Hawker’s book “Soul Survivor”, in which he recounts his own life changing experience of the presence of God.  I realized after the fact that I had committed an error common to Christians.  It’s something we do far too often.  And it’s something that only frustrates those who are truly seeking after the truth - the truth that we know can only be found in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
